Cuando vine a vivir junto al mar en Oia (España), enseguida me pregunté qué lugar encontraría al otro lado del Atlántico si navegara en línea recta hacia el Oeste desde mi casa.
En un primer vistazo al mapa del mundo, daba la impresión de que mi nuevo lugar de residencia está frente a Nueva York. Sin embargo, cuando comprobé la latitud exacta, me di cuenta de que lo que en realidad hay al otro lado del Océano Atlántico es Truro, Massachusetts, un lugar donde el pintor Edward Hopper y su esposa Jo pasaron al menos 4 meses al año desde 1930 hasta la muerte del pintor en 1967.
Fue entonces cuando decidí hacer una radio postal diaria inspirada libremente en la obra de Hopper, que consistiría en la imagen de la puesta de sol combinada con el sonido de la radio local y de Truro, paisajes sonoros de mi entorno y archivo sonoro relacionado con Edward Hopper.

When I came to live by the sea in Oia, Spain, I immediately wondered what place I would find on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean if I sailed straight west from my home.
At first glance at a map of the world, it gives the impression that my new place of residence is opposite New York. However, when I checked the exact latitude, I realized that what actually lies on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean is Truro, Massachusetts, a place where the painter Edward Hopper and his wife Jo spent at least 4 months a year from 1930 until the painter’s death in 1967.
It was then that I decided to make a daily visual radio postcard freely inspired by Hopper’s work, which would consist of the image of the sunset combined with the sound of local and Truro radio, soundscapes of my surroundings and sound archive related to Edward Hopper.
